Systers-students is a list is for female students studying in technical areas. It is a moderated list, which serves as a forum for exchanging information about issues with being a technical female student. (The current archive is only available to the list members.)
Using Systers-students
The mailing list is organized around conversations. To begin a new conversation, send email to Systers-students+new@athena.systers.org. Alternately, if you would like to specify a name for your new conversation, send your message to Systers-students+new+name@athena.systers.org, replacing name with the name you would like (e.g., Systers-students+new+greetings@athena.systers.org). To continue an existing conversation, simply use your mailer's "reply-all" command. You can subscribe to the list in the next section of this page, or if you are already a subscriber, use the bottom section to change options or unsubscribe.
Subscribing to Systers-students
Subscribe to Systers-students by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your full name:   This list requires subscribers to provide a short essay on their qualifications to join this list: You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
